Golden's Great Loop: The Western Half
Golden travels the inland waterways of the US and Canada
June 1st, 2006 to November 13, 2006

Golden transited the Eastern Seaboard in the Fall of 2002, heading south out of Vermont via the Champlain Canal, Hudson River and ICW. After wintering in Cape Coral, FL she headed back home in the Spring of 2003. We consider that the "Eastern Half" of our Great Loop Cruise. We headed west in 2006!
We left Burlington, Vermont on June 1, 2006, and arrived in Cape Coral, Florida November 13, 2006. Our path took us through the Champlain Canal, the Erie Canal, across Lake Ontario, through the Trent-Severn, through Lake Huron's Georgian Bay and North Channel, down Lake Michigan, into the Illinois River to the Mississippi River, the Ohio River, Cumberland River, Tennessee River, then south down the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway to Mobile, Alabama, west via the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, across the Gulf of Mexico to Tarpon Springs, and finally south to Cape Coral.
I posted a web log along the way - we invite you to read about our latest adventure! You can use the "Next Day" and "Previous Day" links at the top and bottom of each page to navigate from page to page in date order, or, there are quick links below that will take you either to a regional portion of the the trip (for example, the Mississippi River) or to each Monday of the trip. Enjoy!
